Queen Extravaganza, official tribute to Queen produced by Roger Taylor and Brian May, kicked off this week’s unprecedented tour of the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom with Alirio Netto joining as the lead singer of this new venture. Recently a video was released where Brian May and Roger Taylor watched the band at the rehearsal and following the guitarist speaks in a video about the performance of the musicians.

Alirio Netto is one of the most recognized rock voices in Brazil. Whether on stage or in the studio, his powerful voice and incredible variety impressed Roger and Brian when he starred as Galilleo in the Brazilian production of We Will Rock You in 2016. Queen Extravaganza features drummer Tyler Warren, bassist François-Olivier Doyon, guitarist Nick Radcliffe and keyboardist Darren Reeves.
The singer is one of the great names of Rock and Metal of Brazil with appearances in the great Brazilian TV programs like Altas Horas, The Noite, Jô Soares, Faustão, among others, besides having already performed in Rock in Rio with the band Age of Artemis. Recently the musician toured solo with Noturnall and James Labrie (Dream Theater) which culminated in the recording of a DVD with the participation of the band Angra and Livia Dabarian, still with no scheduled release date.

Alirio Netto first contact with Queen took place in December 2017. After a few meetings the singer was announced by Queen’s official website at the beginning of 2018. In an official statement, Roger Taylor said he was very happy with the Brazilian.
Roger Taylor comments: “Alirio is not only a superlative singer, he is also a great showman who will deliver our songs with tremendous talent.”
In Alírio Netto’s musical resume, the actor played the role of Jesus in the Mexican production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and Judas in the Brazilian production of the same musical for which he was chosen by the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo as Best Musical Actor of 2014. In addition, Alírio Netto and his wife Livia Dabarian had the great honor and opportunity to star in the Brazilian version of the musical “We Will Rock You”, Queen’s musical, in the role of Galileo and Scaramouche. Alírio has already recorded albums with the bands Khallice and Age of Artemis with which he even played in Rock in Rio and his first solo CD “João de Deus”. Recently, the musician released the music videos for the songs “Back to the Light” and “De Sol a Sol”.
